Hello everyone!
The 2009 NYC Marathon is finished...4:19. Not as fast as I wished for, but still satisfied nonetheless. I have to be honest...26.2 miles is far!!! I ran my first 13.1 miles at pace, just under 2hrs. Then at about mile 17, things started to slow down. I hit the 59th Street Bridge, and boy was it steep, but made it through, and worked the last couple of miles through Central Park. Seeing Gaby and TEAM RYAN at mile 25 was PERFECT, and just what I needed. I think I was borderline delirious at that point (and have pictures to prove it!!) What an experience, just AWESOME!!!
I want to thank all of you for the support, words of encoragement, and advice along the way, you have all made this journey one I will never forget!!
I also can't thank Gaby enough for all of her hard work with the website, the t-shirts, and coordinating EVERYTHING!!! And keeping me in one piece...both mentally and physically along the way. Gaby I love you and NEVER could have finished this endeavor without you and the girls. It was a special day we will talk about for ever!
And, Danny, we had some good talks along the course, especially that stretch of 1st Avenue in Manhattan, around mile 20. I thank you for pulling me through, and hope you are as proud of me as I will always be of you. I Love You Dan!!!!
Thank you again for making this an incredible journey!!

Gaby and I are packed for the trip to NYC. Soccer in the morning, Trick o Treating in the afternoon, and then on or way. Took off today, and maybe even tomorrow. Rest, rest, rest is paramount right now.
I will be starting in the second wave at 1000 am. Weather looks like it will hold out and off we go. Remember to watch live coverage starting at 900 am. Maybe there will be a TEAM RYAN sighting. Thanks again for all your support and donations, you have all made this event one incredible trip.
THANK YOU!

Seven days and counting!!! Feeling good with only a few short training runs to go. I can't begin to thank everyone for all the words of encouragement and advice along the way. With a TEAM like this, we are sure to get through 26.2 miles!!!
Tomorrow morning running 8 miles...this will be the last time I run the 5 .2 mile loop through the streets of Pt. Pleasant....At least for a couple of weeks! Arnold Ave, Bay Ave, and the SH 88 Bridge are like family now, I have spent so much time running them.
I haven't added up the total miles of training runs, but have definitely run over 500 miles since May. Well I have to say, NEVER thought running 500 miles and ME would ever be in the same sentence...I guess we all surprise ourselves every once in awhile.
Get the TEAM RYAN shirts out of the closets....November 1st is right around the corner. Thank you again for all your support, and don't forget to look for the guy wearing number 27720 running through the streets of NYC!! GO TEAM RYAN!!

Well 15 days to go and counting!!!! I received my number for the race....I will be wearing bib # 27720!!!
Of course #72 is special to all of us for it was Danny's football number. This is definitely a sign that I will not be running this race alone!!! Thanks Dan!!!
